Fall Harvest Festival at Roper Mountain Science Center

Join us for a day of family fun at the Living History Farm at Roper Mountain Science Center and experience how our ancestors right here in the Upstate prepared for the coming winter. Led by volunteers dressed in period costume, the activities and demonstrations at the Fall Harvest Festival will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
Activities will include: Sheep and duck herding, master craftsmen demonstrating their skills in broom-making, basket weaving, blacksmithing and more. Some artisans will have goods for sale – perfect for early holiday shopping. Or try your hand at real farm skills like plowing and corn shucking and shelling. Play historical games or compete in a good old-fashioned sack race – not just for kids!
Activities will also be available in the Harrison Hall of Natural Science and in the physical science labs at the top of the mountain. Or, catch a planetarium show and spend some time using the telescope in the Daniel Observatory. There’s something for everyone at Roper Mountain Science Center! Admission is $6 for ages 13+, $5 for ages 5 – 12, and seniors ages 60+. Children ages 4 and under and members of the Roper Mountain Science Center Association are free.
